The 1st Annual Canadian Phil Ochs Festival (“Ochsfest”) will take place in Ottawa on Saturday, December 19th. The date marks the 75th anniversary of the birth of Phil Ochs (1940-1976), the American topical songwriter and singer whose songs continue to be powerfully moving and relevant.
The Phil Ochs Festival will consist of events at Southminster United Church and the Gladstone Theatre, and will include the release of an 11-song CD of Phil Ochs songs by Ottawa singer-songwriter Erin Saoirse Adair.
